May Events

May is a big month in Alder Flats.  Volunteers are putting in many hours preparing for our annual Alder Flats Rodeo & Racemeet as we speak.  We've got a 3 day show planned for you this year, beginning on May 25 at 6:00 pm!  Friday night beer gardens and rodeo are always a fun, casual get together.  On Saturday, we start early with our parade at 10:00 am.  Judging will take place at 9:30 am.  Participants should be on site at the judging area west of the school by 9:00 am. This year's parade theme is Clowning Around! That should make for lots of great floats and displays.  We are going to do a new route this year, starting west of the school and heading east along Highway 13, then turning off to the left towards the hall and west along the residential streets.  Watch for parade posters for full details!

After the parade on Saturday, May 26, head over the the rodeo grounds for a full day of bull riding, bronc riding, races, steer wresting, mutton busting, chuckwagons, chariots, barrel racing and much more!  There's a bouncy castle and a Saturday trade fair with kids booth and face painting, food stalls, beer gardens and more! Around 5:00 pm, the charcoals will be heating up to cook a mountain of steaks for our barbeque.  We also have hot dog plates for kids.  Stay for the dance and do some boot scooting to David Jukebox Leigh and his band.

On Sunday, join us early for a pancake breakfast around 7:30 or 8:00 am, followed by Cowboy Church.  At 10:00 am, there's more rodeo, including chuckwagons and chariots!

Free camping on site!

See you at the rodeo. Click here for a detailed poster of the event.
